People are noticing Robin Wright though. You may have heard of her. If you watch entertainment news and stuff (shouts to mom!), then you may have recently seen more of her than you expected.
Yes, people are watching Claire Underwood. As Wright intimated during her acceptance speech for House of Cards‘s only Golden Globe in 2014, for Best Actress in a TV Drama, the invitation to play across from Spacey came with a license: she was told to really just create the character. I guess the script was pretty flat right out of the gate then? Whatever the case, she obviously did something (gulp) right.
Last thing: Netflix should be pumped. It won a staggering one more Golden Globes than anyone could’ve freaking guessed when it decided, Yeah, ok, let’s try the HBO/Showtime thing and frighten our stockholders by dumping hundreds of millions of eggs into this basket. Credit where it’s clearly due.
