It’s been a big week for Nintendo! With all the Mario Kart 8 news, there’s been a great deal of anticipation for the future of the gaming company.
The news just keeps coming however. With Super Smash Bros. Wii U being released in winter 2014, Nintendo just released a trailer featuring two new challengers!
That’s right. Charizard is coming to play! Oh and that other Pokemon, Greninja… But FREAKING CHARIZARD!
All jokes aside, the roster for Super Smash Bros. Wii U is massive. Much more expansive than the one I remember from Super Smash Bros. Melee.
One of the biggest changes to the series comes in the online multiplayer system. Nintendo divided players into two categories, “For Fun” and “For Glory.” For Fun looks more like traditional Super Smash Bros, only recording wins and pitting opponents against similar levels of wins with all items included. For Glory mode records wins and losses, removes all items, and every match is played on one of the Final Destination version of various levels.
In addition to the mini trailer they released, Nintendo also released a 40 minute video of in depth coverage of all things Super Smash Bros.
As previously mentioned, Super Smash Bros Wii U plans to release in winter 2014, while Super Smash Bros 3DS is expected to release summer of 2014.
